The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Little River County in southwestern Arkansas...
Miller County in southwestern Arkansas...
Southwestern Sevier County in southwestern Arkansas...
Southern McCurtain County in southeastern Oklahoma...
Northeastern Bowie County in northeastern Texas...

* Until 1100 AM CDT.

* At 801 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Texarkana, Wake Village, Ashdown, Foreman, Idabel, Broken Bow,
Nash, Hooks, Red Lick, Fouke, Wilton, Winthrop, Ogden, Richmond,
Arkinda, Mandeville, Genoa, Leary and Mount Pleasant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain possible this morning across portions of Southeast OK, Northeast TX, Southern AR, and North LA, which could produce locally heavy rainfall resulting in flash flooding across the Slight Risk area.

A Marginal risk for severe thunderstorms exist today and tonight for Northeast TX, Southeast OK, and Southwest AR. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall are the primary threats from any strong storms that develop.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties,
Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller,
Nevada, Sevier and Union, Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto,
Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita, Red River, Union, Webster and Winn,
southeast Oklahoma, including the following county, McCurtain, and
northeast Texas, including the following counties, Bowie, Camp,
Cass, Franklin, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Red River, Titus, Upshur
and Wood.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Storms with locally heavy rainfall will increase in coverage
during the overnight hours and likely linger early on Tuesday and
possibly redevelop with heating as the weak front lifts back
northward. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 are expected with isolated
higher amounts of 5 to 7 plus inches will be possible.
- Locations affected include our entire I-30 corridor and much of
southern Arkansas, north of I-20 in northeast TX and along and
south of I-20 in Louisiana.

Special Weather Statement

At 117 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles west of Bradley, or 20 miles northwest of Springhill, moving
southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Plain Dealing, Bradley, Canfield, Gin City, Pleasant Valley,
Canale, Fort Lynn and Bolinger.
