Moped Fatality Victim Identified

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a single-moped accident in the 2400 Block of South Lake Dr. in the Lexington area of Lexington County on May 21, 2026, at approximately 9:45 AM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Michael Bailey Vines, 69, of Lexington, was traveling westbound on South Lake Dr. when he left the right side of the roadway and was ejected off of the moped. Mr. Vines, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.

Cayce Homicide Victim Identified

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the person who was shot and killed at a home in the 1500 block of Granby Road, in Cayce, S.C. at approximately 04:27 A.M. on 05/23/2026 which is in the Cayce area of Lexington County.

Coroner Margaret Fisher states that Mr. Zaquan Payden Glover, 21, of West Columbia was shot several times in the upper body and died on the scene from his injuries. Cayce Department of Public Safety is continuing it’s investigation into this homicide.

In a related incident, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department got into a vehicle pursuit with what is being reported to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office as the suspect’s vehicle in the above homicide. It was reported that deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department attempted to pull the suspect’s vehicle over but the suspect/driver fled and a chase began. It was reported that deputies forcefully disabled the car near the State Farmer’s Market at which time the alleged suspect who is identified as Aaron Franklin Aycock, 26, of Lexington exited the vehicle and opened fire, also shooting himself. Mr. Aycock was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. He died on May 24, 2026 at 15:07 from that gunshot wound. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday , May 28th, at MUSC in Charleston.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office as well as the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Cayce Department of Public Safety continue to investigate this incident.

Columbiana Circle Bicycle Fatality

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a vehicle vs bicycle accident in the 100 block of Columbiana Circle in the Columbia area of Lexington County on May 10, 2026, at approximately 10:40 AM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Standly Stampson, 27, of Columbia was cycling southbound within the mall parking lot when he collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on Columbiana Circle. Mr. Stampson, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the City of Columbia Police Department continue to investigate the incident.

Marshall Road Homicide

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher is releasing the identity of a woman who was stabbed during an altercation at a residence in the 100 block of Marshall Road in the Gaston area of Lexington County on May 1, 2026, at approximately 03:20 A.M.

Coroner Fisher states that Ms. Gabrielle Marie Cribb, 22, of Lexington, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead due to multiple stab wounds. An autopsy has been scheduled at MUSC in Charleston, SC for Monday, May 4, 2026, at 08:30 A.M.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this incident.

Highway 321 Pedestrian Fatality

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision near the intersection of Highway 321 and Wilbur Road in the Gaston area of Lexington County on April 14, 2026 at approximately 1:10 AM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Mark Bartholomew Mack , 49, of Gaston was walking northbound in the southbound lanes when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. Mr. Mack was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was transported to an area hospital.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.

Body Recovered From Lake Murray

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who was recovered from Lake Murray near the Irmo side of the dam at approximately 11:00 PM on April 11, 2026.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Travers Antonio Berry, 50, of Columbia, was pronounced dead on scene after being recovered from Lake Murray by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department Dive Team.

The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, and the Lexington County Coroner's Office.

Fernandina Road Homicide

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who was found shot outside an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Fernandina Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County on April 4, 2026, shortly before 1:00 PM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Ke'Mari Samar'Trey Ford, 18, of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department continue to investigate the incident.

Longview Street House Fire Fatality

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a house fire that occurred in the 100 block of Longview Street in the Lexington area of Lexington County on April 1, 2026, shortly after 12:00 AM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Wilfrid J. Demers Jr., 91, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for April 3, 2026, at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

The incident remains under investigation by SLED and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

Hammond Avenue Homicide

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher is releasing the identity of a man who was shot in the Hammond Avenue area of West Columbia on March 20, 2026.

Coroner Fisher states that Mr. Charles Boyd Moore Jr., 54, of West Columbia, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead due to a gunshot wound to the upper body. An autopsy has been scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on March 23, 2026, at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

The West Columbia Police Department, The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this incident.

Robbie Road Vehicle Fatality

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 300 block of Robbie Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County on March 15, 2026, at approximately 2:50 AM.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Timothy Lee Morton, 48, of Lexington was traveling southbound on Robbie Road when he left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Mr. Morton, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
