During Zero Tolerance for Litter Month, we're reminded that keeping our lakes, roads, parks, and neighborhoods clean starts with each of us. A single piece of litter can travel through storm drains and waterways, impacting wildlife and the natural beauty we enjoy every day.

Help protect Lake Murray by:
🚯 Disposing of waste properly
🚗 Securing loads before traveling
🗑️ Picking up litter when you see it

Together, we can keep our community beautiful for future generations.

Spring cleaning your patio? 🌞🧹 Before you kick that old furniture to the curb, here’s how to give it a responsible and stylish send‑off:

REDUCE ♻️
Resist the “but it’s cute!” impulse buy 👀💕 — choose pieces you’ll actually enjoy and use.

REUSE 🔄
If your furniture still has some sparkle ✨, let it shine somewhere new! Donate it to a local charity or nonprofit so it can live its best second-life.

RECYCLE 🗑️➡️♻️
• Metal patio furniture → Drop it in the Scrap Metal container at any Collection & Recycling Center.
• Wood, fabric, or glass furniture → These belong in the Yard Waste compactor. They’re usually treated and can’t be recycled, but they can be disposed of properly. 🚮

BIG, BULKY, OR HEAVY PIECES? 💪🪑
Bring them to the Edmund Landfill. The friendly scale staff will point you in the right direction. 👍

CURBSIDE PICKUP 🚚
Yes, patio furniture can go curbside — but only if you’re part of Lexington County’s Curbside Collection Program and you schedule a bulk-item pickup with your provider. (Fees may apply.) 💵
