The State Board voted to extend voting by 1 hour - to 8:30 p.m. - at a Halifax Co. voting site after delays in voting this morning. The State Board will not publish any primary results until all polls are closed at 8:30. See press release: tinyurl.com/ywjctvef

Tomorrow is Primary Election Day in North Carolina! Make sure you're ready with these simple tips:

1) Make sure you report to your ASSIGNED POLLING LOCATION between 6:30am to 7:30pm. The Early Voting sites are now closed and you must report to your assigned precinct. Find your polling place and your sample ballot on your voter profile at https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/.

2) Bring your photo ID! Learn more about which IDs are acceptable for voting at https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id.

3) This is a primary election. You will vote the party's primary ballot of which you are registered. If you are registered Unaffiliated, you will be asked which party's primary you'd like to participate in. This does NOT change your registration from Unaffiliated.

4) Voters who have an Absentee-by-Mail ballot will want to bring their completed ballot materials to the Davidson County Board of Elections office before 7:30pm on Election Day. Our address is 945 North Main Street, Suite A, Lexington, NC 27292.

The Davidson County Board of Elections reminds voters that the deadline to return an Absentee by Mail ballot for the March 3, 2026 Election is 7:30 p.m. on Election Day (March 3).

Absentee ballots must be received in our office by 7:30 p.m. to be counted.

While voters may return their ballot by mail, please keep postal delivery times in mind. To ensure your ballot arrives on time, you may prefer to return it directly to our office before the 7:30 p.m. deadline on Election Day. Our office is located at:
