FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing or
expected.

* WHERE...East Central Dawson County in south central Nebraska...

* WHEN...Until 1030 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 629 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms.. Minor flooding is likely ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the Advisory area, as 1 to 3 inches of rain has
fallen mainly in the last 90 minutes. Up to around 1 inch of
additional rain is possible over the next few hours.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Bell Creek, Elm Creek, Crooked Creek, Platte River, Dry Fork Wood
River, Spring Creek and Buffalo Creek. Most of the runoff will
likely drain into the Buffalo Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Overton, but mainly rural areas northwest of Overton and
northeast of Lexington.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

HEAT ADVISORY IS CANCELLED.....EXTREME HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with afternoon with afternoon and
early evening heat index values as high as 105 to 115 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and south central
Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures Monday morning will
provide only limited relief from the heat, dropping no lower than
the mid to upper 70s in most areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Areas of Fog, Some Localized Dense, Lingering Through Around 9
or 10 AM...

Areas of fog will continue affecting much of south central/central
Nebraska and north central Kansas early this morning. Visibility
as low as 1 to 1/2 mile will be fairly widespread across much of
the area, with embedded pockets of the area experiencing at least
a brief period of dense fog reducing visibility to 1/4 mile or
less...including within and near the Nebraska Tri Cities. Fog and
resultant visibility will gradually improve over the next few
hours, with any truly dense fog expected to dissipate or improve
especially by between 9 and 10 AM.

Given that the coverage of truly dense fog with visibility 1/4
mile or less is somewhat limited across the area as a whole, a
formal Dense Fog Advisory is not expected to be issued at this
time. However, please use caution this morning if encountering any
dense fog while driving. Slow down, turn on your headlights, and
leave plenty of distance in front of you.

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Western Dawson County in south central Nebraska...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 753 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Moorefield,
or 12 miles east of Curtis, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
western Dawson County, including the following locations... Farnam.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 209 and 218.
