❗❗ Due to the forecasted winter storm for our area, 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 will close once snow begins to accumulate on Saturday. Temperatures are forecast to be well below freezing over the next week. Because of this and to avoid snow being packed down and making snow removal more difficult, please make plans for all Rockbridge County Collection Centers to be closed until crews can complete snow removal. Updates for individual centers to reopen will be sent out once centers are cleared and safe for use. ❗❗

🚨 Free Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training! 🚨
A National TIM Responder Training Course will be held on January 3rd, 2026 from 0900–1300 hrs — and lunch is provided!

This course brings police, fire/EMS, towing, public works, and other responders together to improve safety, reduce secondary crashes, and clear incidents faster.

🚨 Become an EMT — Training Starts January 2026 🚨

Rockbridge County Fire-Rescue is offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course from January 7 – April 18, 2026.

📍 Location: RCFR Admin Office, Buena Vista, VA
🕓 Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6–10 PM; occasional Saturdays, 8 AM–5 PM
💵 Cost: $500 (includes textbook) — tuition waiver available for interested participants

Open to anyone 16 or older. This hybrid course includes in-person skills sessions and a final skills test on April 18, 2026.

Join us for the Fire Officer II course, designed for those looking to step into managerial and leadership roles within the fire service.

📅 Class Dates: 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, with testing on 11/20

⚠️ Eligibility: Must have completed Fire Officer I
