Access to Algebra kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with our Leader Assembly in Louisville on August 21! 📚 We brought together district leaders, school administrators, testing coordinators and teacher leaders to launch this year’s A2A program initiatives and build momentum for another great year.

We’re excited for what’s ahead, from upcoming school visits to continued collaboration with our middle school partners across the commonwealth, as we work together to support student success in mathematics! ✏️

True innovation doesn't start with answers, it starts with knowledge. As one of three pillars of our new STEM360 initiative, knowledge is about expanding access to STEM information, inspiring learning that sparks curiosity and empowering educators across Kentucky.

Through this initiative, we're building a STEM ecosystem that helps Kentuckians better understand STEM pathways and opportunities, engages students with collegiate-level research topics that connect classroom learning to emerging fields and equips educators with new content, resources and approaches.

By understanding where we are, asking better questions and giving educators and students tools to explore what comes next, we can transform information into opportunity!

The College Readiness Program was honored to host AP and Dual Credit teachers from across Kentucky for a day packed with pedagogy, content, and community! 📚✨
Real talk, real strategies, real connection with mentors and colleagues who'll have their backs all year long.

We recently brought a Hopes and Fears Lab to Paris, Kentucky, inviting community members to explore artificial intelligence, its effects on society and the environment. Rather than a traditional presentation, the Lab created space for open, two-way conversation on the topic, allowing community members to share their hopes, concerns and experiences. 💬

Three experts with backgrounds in AI joined the Lab, including Nick Arsenault from our Kentucky Science & Engineering Foundation team, who drew on his expertise to engage with questions and perspectives shared by community members.

The Hopes and Fears Lab is modeled after the Ethics, Science, and the Public Project developed in Cambridge, England, an approach inspired by the Human Library that brings researchers into familiar public spaces to make conversations around complex topics more approachable. Recognizing the value of creating these opportunities for open dialogue, Carlee O'Neal, Dr. Sheri McGuffin and our AdvanceKentucky team have worked to bring the model to communities across Kentucky!

We are delighted to announce that our team recently attended this year's Kentucky Association of School Administrators Conference (KASA) in Louisville! 📚 Monique Rice, Annette Williams and Aaron Timmons took this opportunity to engage with school and district leaders from across the state and share how our programs impact Kentucky education.

We look forward to continuing connecting with education leaders at events like the KASA Conference and raising awareness of the opportunities available to educators and students across the commonwealth.

We are thrilled to present our new initiative, STEM360! In order for statewide education to transform, a connected network must first be in place. Supported by the Kloiber Foundation, STEM360 is designed to unite educators, students and industry partners across Kentucky under one shared vision: elevating Kentucky's STEM education ecosystem.

This mission will center on three interconnected pillars: knowledge, collaboration and innovation. Knowledge uses data-driven insights to unlock new learning and career pathways throughout Kentucky's STEM landscape. Collaboration breaks down geographic boundaries to foster multi-sector partnerships. Innovation creates spaces to explore cutting-edge technology and advance classroom learning.

From rural communities to urban centers, from classroom to industry and K-12 to higher education, is about connecting the pieces of Kentucky's STEM ecosystem to share ideas, build partnerships and develop future-ready skills.

Middle school math educators, this one’s for you! 🍎 Join us October 23-24 for the Fall Forum Middle Grades PD event, two days of professional learning designed to give Grades 6 through Algebra 1 teachers practical strategies, fresh ideas and resources they can bring back to their classrooms.

Hear from UChicago STEM Specialist Abby Rodgers, 2026 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Michelle Gross and other experienced educators as they lead sessions on Algebraic Thinking, Building Thinking Classrooms, Number Talks, Math Manipulatives, Interactive Notebooks, the Modern Classrooms Project and more.

The countdown to Launch Day is on! 🚀 The College Readiness Program team has been hard at work prepping and packing swag for teachers across Kentucky.
From t-shirts to notebooks, every item is a small reminder that taking on a challenging course is worth celebrating. We can't wait to put these in the hands of educators putting in the work this year!

Learning alongside the educators we support! 👩‍🏫 Our Access to Algebra Content Managers recently joined Bullitt County eighth grade Algebra I teachers for a Math Medic training focused on new instructional resources and math pedagogy. Our team values opportunities to learn alongside program teachers and explore strategies that can strengthen math instruction in the classroom.
