Career and Technical Education Resources - Kentucky Department of Education

In a collaborative effort by KDE Engineering Lead Mark Harrell, KDE Computer Science Lead Dr. Sean Jackson, Director of the Additive Manufacturing Center at Somerset Community College Eric Wooldridge and AdvanceKentucky STEM Coordinator Dr. Sheri McGuffin, Kentucky students will have an opportunity to complete an additive manufacturing pathway in Kentucky schools beginning in 2023-24! This hybrid pathway opens new doors for students who want to pursue careers that involve 3D printing with multiple applications across disciplines.

Pursuant to Senate Bill 1, 2021 Extraordinary Session, districts are required to submit their current COVID-19 School Operations Plan and any subsequent drafts to KDE for informational purposes.Districts may submit their plans to KDE using this form.

New report from offers policy solutions to close equity gaps in AP enrollment and success. These strategies can be used to improve the rigor of all high school coursework and ensure all students are prepared for success in college and careers: https://ampr.gs/3xcKSDS

Even in high schools with similar levels of access to advanced coursework, Black, Latinx, and Indigenous students are less likely to be enrolled in advanced courses—and even when they are enrolled, they experience less success in these courses than their peers.
