Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road Council We offer programming for girls from kindergarten through their senior year of high school.

Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road encourages girls to pursue their unique passions, build community, and discover their potential, through offering a lifetime of adventure, leadership, and success. Our four-primary pillars, STEM, Outdoor Adventure, Life Skills and Entrepreneurship, motivates girls to become leaders of their communities and of their own lives. With over 3,000 volunteers, 40

employees, 8,500 girl members, GSKWR serves 66 counties in Northeast and Central Kentucky and 1 Ohio County and is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. GSKWR is largely reliant on its dedicated volunteers, committed corporate partners and generous donors for its ongoing success. The council offers flexible volunteer options for varied commitment levels and customized donor and corporate partnership opportunities. On Monday, February 17th, Girl Scouts visited Northern Kentucky University for this year's Doctor for a Day! Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors had the chance to learn from local professionals in fields such as nurse anesthesia, emergency medicine, medical anthropology, neuroscience, and more. Our high schoolers even got to visit NKU's cadaver lab!

Thank you NKU Institute for Health Innovation and staff for a wonderful Girl Scouts experience!

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at Legends Field! On July 18th, 2025, the Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road are invited to join us for a special overnight opportunity, creating memories and enjoying the excitement of spending the night on the field.

Start the night watching your Lexington Legends take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs! After the game, you'll have the chance to connect with fellow scouts and experience the fun of spending the night on the field.

In the morning, we'll serve a light breakfast (Bagels & Juice) to start your day, giving you the chance to enjoy one last moment together with your fellow Scouts before heading home.

Time: 6:00 PM - 10:00 AM (Next Day)
Location: Legends Field
Cost: $20 per participant (Includes ticket, meal voucher, overnight opportunity, & breakfast)

Estimated travel dates are June 29, 2026 through July 8, 2026 (10 days). We'll be touring Shannon, Killarney region, Blarney, Dublin, Holyhead, Birmingham region, Stratford-upon-Avon, and London.

Transport your girls back in time and experience the old-world wonders with a tour of England, Ireland and Wales. “Kiss the Blarney Stone” in Killarney, marvel at the Gothic spires of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, and explore the bustling streets of London. From 16th-century Shakespearean works to the modern-day Harry Potter saga, it’s no wonder this corner of the world is rich in literary tradition. If traveling as a Girl Scout troop, you will make a special visit to the Pax Lodge, a WAGGGS World Centre, in Hampstead where you will participate in unique Girl Scout programming.

Whether your whole troop wants to enroll, or you are an individual Girl Scout or parent wanting to travel with our group, we would love for you to join us.

This workshop will cover all the requirements of the badge. Girls will make first aid kits to take home, an emergency contact card, and learn how to make a stretcher from outdoor items. The girls will also learn how to care for injuries. All attending will have a lot of fun learning valuable skills!

Calling all Girl Scouts! 8th through 11th graders are invited to apply for the National Youth Preparedness Council through FEMA. The YPC program brings together teens interested and engaged in community preparedness together from across the nation.

As part of the Youth Preparedness Council, Girl Scouts will collaborate with other teenagers across the nation "to develop projects that promote preparedness on a local and national scale." The YPC collaborates with a variety of leaders from FEMA, national non-profit organizations, and the federal government.
