⭐️ Story of Hope ⭐️
At the age of 65, Rose Banks, a faithful cancer survivor, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. When she first received the news, she became numb at the thought of facing such an insufferable disease. As she continued on her cancer journey, fears of death and not being able to watch her grandchildren grow up consumed her thoughts.
The cancer progressed quickly, and during treatment, Rose lost 95 pounds while undergoing three types of chemotherapy and a month of radiation. Despite the physical and emotional toll, she remained steadfast in her faith, believing God was not done with her yet. Rose often compared her faith to a mustard seed—small, yet powerful enough to help her overcome what once seemed impossible.
Throughout her journey, Rose battled neuropathy, a side effect of chemotherapy that left her confined to a wheelchair for two years. Through physical therapy, determination, and perseverance, she learned to walk again.
In 2023, Rose was declared cancer-free. Today, she enjoys going to the YMCA three times a week, participating in line dancing classes, and working toward her goal of completing a 5K this year—even if she has to walk it.
Stories like Rose’s remind us that hope is possible, even in the darkest moments. Every patient who comes through Cancer Services has a unique journey, but providing support and encouragement gives them something invaluable—the gift of hope.
