The ballroom chandelier is the most elaborate of the Cornelius and Baker lighting fixtures purchased for the mansion in 1859. Originally these were "gasoliers", as this was one of the very early private residences to have gas lights. A coal gasification plant on the premises converted coal into gas to supply this technologically advanced home. Learn more about this place and its history this Saturday. Our first holiday tours of the season are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Purchase tickets online ($15 per person) at LinwoodLawn.com or call 816-838-8330 for information.
