The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the dumping of gravel in four separate areas of rural Dawson County. This was NOT done by the Dawson County Roads Department. Although, this could be useful for the roadways, it does create a traffic hazard and the possibility of an accident if the gravel is not noticed by someone driving in these areas. This week, the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognizes and honors the dedicated deputies who put on the badge each day with courage, strength, and unwavering commitment to protecting our community.

Law enforcement is more than a profession — it is a calling of sacrifice, service, and integrity. We are grateful for the long hours, the difficult decisions, and the dedication our deputies show every single day.

Law enforcement officers are often called during people’s worst moments. They see humanity at it’s most broken, yet many continue showing up because they genuinely want to help people.

During National Police Week, we also pause to remember and honor the officers across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their bravery and service will never be forgotten.

Thank you to the men and women who continue to serve Dawson County with pride. 🇺🇸💙

Today and every day, we recognize the dedicated men and women who work behind the walls to keep our facility safe, secure, and running smoothly.

Correctional Officers are more than a uniform — they are mentors, problem-solvers, leaders, and a constant presence during some of the toughest moments. Their professionalism, teamwork, compassion, and resilience deserve to be celebrated not just this week, but year-round.

These photos represent only a small glimpse of the incredible people who serve our facility every single day. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the long hours you work, and the commitment you show to your team and community.
