Attention to anyone traveling wesrbound on 696 west to Elgin.
There are nimerous grass fires from Mundine Rd. to Butler.
Traffic is being directed through. It is best to avoid the area if possible. There are mutiple counties fire units on scene.

Please be careful if you want to burn before the ban takes place. Everything is very dry and fires can spread quickly.

Side Note: Be HYPER aware of the dry conditions that we are currently experiencing. As each of these 100+ degree days passes by, grass is getting dryer and more combustible. Don't idle a vehicle over dry grass.

With the extreme heat today please be mindful of the dangers. Hydrate, if you must be outside wear a hat.
The wind will be picking up in the afternoon the fire danger will be very high. Be careful of the chance of wildfire.
