Subsequently, tips are relayed to the appropriate law enforcement unit for investigation and action. As a non-governmental organization, Lexington Area Crime Stoppers is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors committed to serving the community by enhancing public safety and aiding in crime resolution. Since our inception in 1983, we have contributed to the arrest of approximately 400 individuals and the resolution of over 350 cases, alongside the recovery of approximately $1 million in stolen property. Under the leadership of our law enforcement coordinator, Lieutenant BJ Daniels, we maintain close coordination with investigative efforts, providing regular updates to our Board of Directors. Based on the information provided, the Board determines reward amounts of up to $2,000, which are paid in cash to callers at designated locations within the city, ensuring their anonymity is preserved. Funding for rewards and operational expenses is solely reliant on donations from businesses, civic organizations, and concerned citizens who recognize the value of our mission. All donations are tax-deductible and directly support our efforts to combat crime in the community. We operate independently of federal or state funding, relying entirely on the generosity of our supporters. To contribute to our cause and help bolster community safety in Lexington, tax-deductible donations can be sent to Lexington Area Crime Stoppers at P.O. Your support enables us to continue our vital work in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, empowering citizens to make a meaningful difference in crime prevention and resolution.
