We also provide emergency food to individuals in crisis mode, regardless of age. We serve an average of more than 700 individuals in nearly 600 families each month. Nearly 340,000 pounds of food is distributed each year to more than 1100 unduplicated individuals! We are a Partner Agency of Second Harvest of NWNC which enables us to buy in bulk, doubling our purchase power. In addition to food purc
hases, TEFAP, and the Store Rescue Program through Second Harvest, Pastor’s Pantry acquires food donations from various sources, from individuals, churches, local civic groups and organizations as well as businesses, through food drives and our Faith Food Partners Program. Along with monthly food purchases, we purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from Conrad and Hinkle during the Winter months, as well as purchase meats from Orrell’s Food Service when products are not available from Second Harvest. We are a United Way of Davidson County Partner Agency. In addition to our partnership with United Way and Second Harvest, Pastor’s Pantry partners and collaborates with many other organizations, churches, civic groups, businesses and restaurants, and agencies in our community. We have strong support from our community and benefit from food drives hosted by various business offices, schools, city & county workers, church and civic groups, local organizations, and through special events.
