Monday, June 15th, 2026
Lexington Utilities will close the right southbound lane of North Broad Street in the vicinity of Broad Street Church of Christ for hydrant repairs beginning at 8:00 a.m. Crews expect work to be completed by approximately 1:00 p.m.

Please use caution when traveling through the area and be mindful of workers and equipment. We appreciate your patience as crews work to make repairs as quickly and safely as possible.

Lexington Utilities is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for water customers located on:

▪️Rush Road
▪️Crockett Road
▪️Whistlestop Lane
▪️Wildersville Road
▪️Timberlake Wildersville Road
▪️Northwind Loop

If you are experiencing low to no water pressure this morning, please boil any water intended for human consumption, including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice.

The impacted customers have been notified by our call system as well. This notice is precautionary. Water samples have been collected and require approximately 24 hours for processing. We will provide an update as soon as results are received and the notice is lifted.

After 19 years of dedication, hard work, and keeping us all laughing along the way, Lexington Utilities Water Systems employee Jimmy Jowers is officially retiring. 💦

To know Jimmy is to love him. From being a Dancing with the Stars champion to being one of the funniest, warmest people you could ever meet, Jimmy has made a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to work alongside him. More importantly, he has done an incredible job serving our community and leading his department with pride and heart.

While we are sad to see him go, we could not be happier for him as he begins this next chapter enjoying time with family and friends.

Thank you for everything, Jimmy J. Lexington Utilities is better because of you, and you will be greatly missed. 💙
