What’s not to love? ❤️🐺

Volunteer Margaret sharing a beautiful moment with our sweet Timber. Margaret is part of our dedicated Animal Care Division, a team that pours their hearts into the animals who call Wolf Run home.

Timber’s story did not begin with kindness. She was confiscated from a cruelty situation, frightened and neglected. But at Wolf Run, she discovered what every animal deserves: safety, compassion, and a life filled with love.

Just look at this picture. Two souls who found each other. A volunteer whose heart is big enough to heal, and a wolfdog who finally knows she is cherished.

They are both so happy. And that is what rescue is all about. ❤️🐾

Most of the wolf hybrids who come to us have never known kindness. Many arrive frightened, defensive, and unsure of human touch. Their past has taught them that people are something to fear.

It is the job of our Animal Care Staff to gently break through those walls, not with force, but with patience, consistency, and love.

Why is this so important? First, trust allows us to provide the medical care every animal deserves. Something as simple as applying flea prevention, checking toenails, or brushing a coat becomes possible when fear is replaced with faith.

But there is something even more important. They deserve to know what it feels like to be loved by a human.

Not every wolf hybrid seeks human affection, but many do. They long for treats, gentle scratches, kind words, and the comfort of a person who asks nothing of them except to be safe.

Animals who have suffered know the difference between cruelty and compassion. They remember. They watch. They choose carefully.

These photos are of animals who once arrived at Wolf Run terrified of people. Look at them now. This is the moment the barrier falls. This is the incredible gift of an animal choosing trust over fear.

Our volunteers are among the very finest people I have ever known. And the wolves know it too. ❤️🐺

💪🏼❤️ BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER FOR SOLID FOUNDATION RECOVERY ❤️💪🏼

PLEASE 🙏
Shawn, the founder of Solid Foundation Recovery, is like a son to me. For his birthday, he has asked for no gifts for himself. Instead, his wish is to provide for the incredible men in his recovery program.

Many of us never think twice about buying a toothbrush, toothpaste, a bar of soap, deodorant, a pair of socks, or laundry detergent. But for someone who has been battling addiction and simply trying to survive, these everyday items can feel like a luxury.

These men are not weak. They are warriors fighting one of the hardest battles imaginable. Imagine waking up each day with a craving so powerful that it consumes your thoughts, and choosing, every single day, to fight against it.

The men at Solid Foundation Recovery are doing just that. They are choosing life. They are choosing healing. They are choosing a future.

Shawn and his men have also become a part of our Wolf Run family. They have worked beside us, cared for our animals, built, cleaned, repaired, and given their hearts to the refuge. In return, our animals have given them peace, purpose, and a connection that has helped them on their journey. They have helped save the animals, and the animals have helped heal them.

Well… we got our incredible donation of 2,200 pounds of fresh chicken delivered this morning from Flowers Trucking in Jamestown, Tennessee, and let’s just say things got a little exciting! 😅🐺🍗

A pallet shifted and our “mountain of chicken” decided it wanted to make its grand entrance all by itself.

Thankfully, nothing could dampen our gratitude today. We are beyond blessed by the kindness of those who make sure the animals of Wolf Run never go hungry. Feeding wolves, foxes, coyotes, and all of the carnivores in our care is one of our greatest expenses, and donations like this literally keep us going.

So today, we rolled up our sleeves, laughed a little, worked a lot, and were reminded once again that wildlife rescue is rarely glamorous… but it is always worth it.

A huge thank you to Flowers Trucking for getting this precious cargo to us. You are feeding countless wild hearts. ❤️🐺

Every day at Wolf Run begins with a simple promise to the animals who depend on us: you will never go hungry, you will be safe, and you will be loved. ❤️🐺
Tomorrow, because of an incredible act of generosity, that promise becomes a little easier to keep.
Flowers Trucking of Jamestown, Tennessee, is donating 2,200 pounds of fresh chicken to feed the animals of Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge.
When you care for wolves, coyotes, foxes, and other carnivores, food is not just a line on a budget. It is one of our greatest expenses. It is what keeps old bodies strong, young animals growing, and every soul in our care healthy and thriving.
There are moments when we stand back in complete awe of the kindness of people. A company that could have simply gone about its day chose instead to make a profound difference in the lives of animals they may never meet.
To Flowers Trucking, thank you for seeing their worth. Thank you for believing that their lives matter. Thank you for helping us continue a promise we made more than four decades ago: to be their refuge when the world has failed them.

Timber had her yearly senior wellness exam today. ❤️🐺

We believe that true happiness begins with health. Our animals cannot tell us when something hurts, so it is our responsibility to listen with our eyes, our hands, and our hearts.

Today, sweet Timber received her vaccines, bloodwork, and a very thorough examination of all the little “old lady lumps and bumps” that come with a life well lived.

As our sanctuary residents age, preventative care becomes even more important. We celebrate the gray hairs, the slower steps, and the changes that come with growing old because every age imperfection tells a story of a life that was worth saving.

A huge thank you to our veterinary team for helping us ensure Timber’s golden years are comfortable, healthy, and filled with love. 💜🐺

Getting old is a privilege. We’re honored to walk that journey beside her.

Everyone needs somebody. It can be difficult to show love to every animal at Wolf Run. Not all, but some, want to be cuddled, brushed, even need the emotional bond! So when you see that,”click,” and the soul tie is something you can’t not see, a new chapter in that persons life intertwines with an animal, and a bond forms in unimaginable ways. Wes is one of those creatures who’s found his person in Beth. Wolf Run is a magical place for those with an open heart. 🧚🏿
