It was a pleasure to welcome Congressman David Kustoff to Henderson County and discuss issues that are impacting our citizens and communities.

We had a productive conversation about inflation, fuel prices, and the housing shortage that continues to affect families across West Tennessee. Congressman Kustoff was very aware of these challenges and expressed genuine concern for the needs of Henderson County and other rural communities throughout our region.

I was also proud to share that Henderson County was recently recognized by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office for Financial Excellence, becoming the only county in West Tennessee to receive this distinction. Congressman Kustoff was extremely complimentary of our county’s financial position and the responsible management of taxpayer resources that made this recognition possible.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our County Commission, elected officials, department heads, and county employees who work every day to ensure Henderson County remains financially strong while continuing to provide quality services to our citizens.

I appreciate Congressman Kustoff taking the time to meet with local leaders, listen to our concerns, and discuss opportunities for the future. Strong communication and partnerships at every level of government are important as we continue addressing challenges and creating opportunities for the people of Henderson County.

Thank you, Congressman Kustoff, for your continued support of West Tennessee and for taking the time to visit with us today.

Citizens And Constituents:

It is with some mixed emotions that I am submitting my resignation from the County Commission today. I am hoping and expecting to further my legal career in a new position with the Tennessee Department Of Childrens Services, and must resign from the last few months of my remaining term to pursue that opportunity.

I expect to bring this up during the County Commission meeting tonight and will offer more information and comment during, or after, the meeting.

Thank you!

Andy

On June 6, 1944, under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Allied forces launched Operation Overlord, the largest amphibious invasion in history.

By dawn, thousands of paratroopers had already landed behind enemy lines, followed by waves of troops storming the beaches of Normandy under heavy German fire.

Despite fierce resistance, especially at Omaha Beach, the Allies secured a foothold in France, marking the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe during World War II.
