Heads up if you haven't checked the boot regs lately: the height standard changed.
It used to be 6 to 8 inches. Under the current DAFI 36-2903, Air Force boots can now measure anywhere from 6 to 12 inches, heel tread to the top of the back of the boot. Sole and midsole combined still can't exceed 2 inches.
If you bought boots under the old rule, you can wear them through the transition period. But if you're shopping now, it's worth knowing the range you're actually working with.
