Information is still forthcoming, but I am disgusted to hear that someone graffitied hate speech on the walls of the LGBTQ+ Red House at W&L. The school has opened a criminal investigation, but I invite supporters from the community to write to the President and Dean of the University to express your support for our LGBTQ+ students and urge them to take swift action.

It is no surprise that certain members of our City are now emboldened to act with hate in their hearts. What matters is how our community responds.

Your q***r friends are scared. Children of q***r parents are scared. Please, keep your ears to the ground and help us. Show us your love by taking action against those who would oppress us.

In solidarity,
Mads

This journey wasn’t about winning; it was about building bridges and finding ways to connect across identities and perspectives. From the start, I knew the odds weren’t in my favor, but what mattered most was showing up and creating space for connection, understanding, and progress in our community.

One of the most rewarding parts of this experience was seeing how engaged and passionate young people are. They’re watching us—they’re paying close attention to how we make decisions and whether those decisions truly benefit their future. They want to see us stepping up to make real change, and I’m here to advocate for them, for young families, and for a town where we all feel represented and heard.

I’m especially grateful that my stepkids got to see this journey up close. They witnessed what it means to step forward, even without guarantees, and to stand up for something bigger than ourselves.

This isn’t the end—it’s another step in my commitment to building a town where everyone feels seen, valued, and heard. Thank you to everyone who supported me, believed in me, and shared in this vision for change.

I was on the ballot today. My name was on a paper with Presidential candidates. I took a selfie with a Congressional candidate. I congratulated nearly 250 people who registered and voted for the first time—25% of the people who came out to vote today.

It’s hard to get involved, and this has been a long road. I’m tired, but I’m ready to serve the people of Lexington.

Cheers to all those who convinced and supported me to run!

Spotted in the wild! 🎃 I had so much fun seeing my sign and celebrating Halloween with Lexington —costumes and all! Moments like these remind me how special it is to be part of this community.

I think my favorite costume this year has to be Gandalf—hard to beat a classic! What’s yours?

I’ve wrestled with the decision to purchase yard signs for my City Council campaign, especially considering the immense need not only in our community but across Appalachia, where recent disasters have left so many in need of support.

However, after much thought and a helpful suggestion from someone I respect, I realized that the money spent on these signs isn’t just a campaign expense—it’s an investment in the future of our community. These signs are a way to spread the message of what I’m working for: growth, accessibility, and connection. If elected, I’ll work tirelessly to ensure that our city thrives, so that all of us, together, can be part of the solutions we need.

If you’d like to show your support, reach out to get a sign and let’s work together for a better future!
