Rockbridge Area Network Authority Rockbridge Area Network Authority (RANA) is a community owned open access, open services telecommunications network.

The Rockbridge Area Network Authority has received a multi-million dollar ARRA grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration under the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program(BTOP) to build a fiber optic cable backbone to 53 community anchor institutions in Rockbridge County, Lexington city, and Buena Vista city. After this initial project is complete, we plan to expand the fiber optic connections to all homes and businesses in the area.
