This National EMS Week, Davidson County 911 wants to thank the incredible crews at Davidson County EMS for everything they do for our community.

No matter the call or the situation, they show up ready to help. They serve with professionalism, compassion, and dedication every single day.

We are especially thankful this week after yesterday’s accident involving one of our own Telecommunicators. Davidson County EMS responded quickly and handled the call with care, calmness, and professionalism from start to finish. Seeing our partners take care of one of our own meant more than words can say.

We also want to thank Tyro Fire Department for their support and teamwork on scene. Moments like this remind us how strong public safety partnerships are in Davidson County.

From all of us at Davidson County 911, thank you for what you do every day. We appreciate you and we are proud to work alongside you.

Today, our Cheers to Peers Team Lead, Haleigh, and our Responder Relations Team Lead, Karly — along with her sweet daughter — spent the day delivering cookies to all of our law enforcement agencies across Davidson County.

This small gesture could never fully express the gratitude we have for the men and women who serve and protect our communities every single day. Your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

During National Police Week and every week beyond, we want you to know how thankful we are for each of you. Davidson County is stronger and safer because of your service.

After 7 years of dedicated service as our 911 Director, Rob Wilson has officially retired from Davidson County 911 Communications. Throughout his time with our agency, Rob continually encouraged us to grow, improve, and strive for excellence while always supporting the people behind the scenes who serve our community every day.

His leadership, commitment to public safety, and vision for our center have left a lasting impact on our agency, our staff, and our public safety partners. Rob pushed us to be better and always reminded us of the importance of the work we do.

While we will greatly miss his leadership and presence in our center, we are thankful for the years he dedicated to Davidson County and the positive influence he had on so many people.

Included are photos from Rob’s retirement celebration and his final call over the radio — a moment that marked the end of an important chapter in our agency’s history.

Please join us in thanking Rob Wilson for his service and wishing him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

This week, we had the opportunity to participate in and observe Thomasville Fire Department’s Trench Rescue training. It provided great insight into the operations, coordination, and communication involved in these complex incidents.

We’ve attached a few photos to give you a closer look at the hands-on scenarios and work that took place.

A huge shoutout to JC, Jenny, and Grayson for their help dispatching the simulations. Your efforts played a big role in keeping everything running smoothly!

A special thank you to Karly, our head lead of the Responder Relations & Education Committee, for handling dispatch operations on scene, along with her co-lead Anthony and our systems admin Garrett, for attending and assisting throughout the training.

We’d also like to thank Thomasville Fire Department for offering a unique experience to our Operations Manager Nicole, Shift Supervisor Jenny, and Responder Relations Lead Karly—the opportunity to climb their ladder truck. It was an incredible experience and one we truly appreciated!

And a BIG thank you to Thomasville Fire Department for allowing us to be part of this training and for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

We look forward to passing along what we’ve learned and continuing to grow and strengthen our skills as a center!

We wanted to share a few pictures from our first in-person multi-agency training with Davidson Rescue, Holly Grove, Triangle, Pilot, Central, and Lexington City Fire Department this week!

A HUGEEE thank you to Holly Grove Fire Department for having us out and taking the time to walk us through their operations. It was a great opportunity to see things from their side and ask questions we don't always get to ask!

Also, a shoutout to Cailyn for handling the dispatch side of this training exercise!! She did an excellent job... clear, confident, and right on point! She received several compliments, and it definitely showed over the radio!

We had a small group from 911, but it ended up being a really interactive, hands-on experience. Definitely one of those trainings where you walk away with a better understanding of what is happening in the field. We are hoping to keep these trainings going. This is a really good chance to build those relationships and put faces to the voices we talk to every day!

Again another huge thank you to Holly Grove Fire for their time, effort, and willingness to work with us! We really appreciate the partnership! Thank you to Karly and Anthony as well. They serve as leaders of our Responder Relations and Education committee at the 911 Center. This is our first year launching this kind of hands on training and we are excited to see what this committee is able to offer our 911 center and partner agencies.

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating National Telecommunicators Week, and it was truly a memorable one!

It’s always a joy to see the creativity and enthusiasm our squads bring each year through their chosen themes. We’ve shared a few photos highlighting some of those moments, thank you to everyone who participated and made the week so special.

We also want to extend our congratulations to the recipients of this year’s Telecommunicator Awards. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving our community do not go unnoticed.

This year marked an exciting milestone as we hosted our first-ever Telecommunicator Awards Night. For the first time, we invited the families of our nominees to join us in recognizing their achievements. Being able to celebrate alongside loved ones made the evening even more meaningful, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

We look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come as we honor the incredible individuals who serve behind the scenes every day.

Thank you to all of our telecommunicators for the vital role you play in keeping our community safe. 💛
