Yana Lei Gould, a 12th grade student from White Knoll High School, was named a winner in the 2026 competition. Her piece, The Revolutionary Salon, celebrates civil rights activist Yuri Kochiyama and it was chosen out of thousands of entries from around the world. Congratulations, Yana!!

This weekend, 55 theater students from across Lexington County School District One middle and high schools came together to perform our first ever 24 Hour musical. You read that right, in just 24 hours these students learned and performed an entire Broadway musical (The Little Mermaid)!!! Big shout outs to Ms Banks, Ms Simmons and Ms Wilcox for making this happen, with help from several other Lex 1 theater teachers. Congratulations to the student actors, dancers, singers and techs on what will hopefully become a Lex One tradition.

A pair of high school bands in the Midlands will soon head to the nation’s capital as part of this year’s national Memorial Day parade.

Two of our Lexington County School District One senior band students have been awarded the Felicia Spinelli-Dixon Memorial Music Scholarship.
