“Part-Time Public Work’s Maintenance Worker”

The City of Lexington has an opening for part-time maintenance worker. This position performs laboring tasks requiring basic manual skills; including use of basic hand and power tools. Assist in cleanup operations, perform related work as assigned by supervisor. Please come by City Hall to pick up an application if interested position will close March 3rd.

The City of Lexington will be working to complete the water project that was funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture this week. The contractors will be draining the ground storage tank to tie in the new line. Once the tie in is complete, the tank will be refilled. TCEQ requires testing once it is back in operation. A boil water notice will be in place for ALL city water customers Wednesday, February 15th and will not be lifted until the test results come back. This may take a few days. Signs will be posted around town to let customers know that a boil water notice is in effect. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

The City offices will be closed on Monday, February 20th in observance of Presidents’ Day. Also, the water department will do their monthly flushing of the water system on February 21st. If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at 979-773-2221.
