Today and Waltham firefighters came together for joint vehicle extrication training.

Training alongside neighboring departments gives our firefighters an opportunity to work together, practice coordinated extrication techniques, and strengthen the skills needed when responding to serious motor vehicle crashes.

We appreciate the opportunity to train together and continue building strong working relationships between our departments.

Today marks the end of a long contract dispute, but throughout every day of it, never stopped doing our job because serving this community has always been our priority.

As we turn the page, we want to thank the residents of Lexington for standing with us. Your emails, conversations, messages, and words of encouragement reminded us that our work is valued and appreciated. Your support throughout this process meant more than you know and helped ensure that the firefighters protecting this community are treated fairly.

We are proud to serve Lexington, and we look forward to continuing to do so every single day.

Earlier this afternoon responded to Route 2 East for a vehicle fire. Engine 4 and Engine 3 extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.

Yesterday afternoon, were honored to assist the 17th Annual Tribute to Fallen Soldiers - Northwest. This group rides thousands of miles, beginning in Oregon, to pay tribute to service members killed in action.

Every day is different in our line of work.

“They found picric acid, a chemical that can be highly explosive, among many bottles of other substances, a press release from the state reported. Many of them were old and unstable, but others were radioactive.”

An excellent job by the B-Group crews to recognize the hazards and coordinate efforts of all of the outside agencies to keep everyone safe.

The Lexington Fire Department, alongside several state agencies, safely removed and diffused the materials by the end of the night.
