We have received reports of scammers calling family members of inmates and demanding payment for an inmate’s bond.

Please know: Our jail does not call family members on behalf of an inmate to request or collect bond money over the phone.

If you receive one of these calls:
- Do not provide personal or financial information.
- Do not send money, gift cards, or electronic payments.
- Hang up immediately.
- Do not trust caller ID, as scammers can disguise phone numbers.

Please help us protect our community by sharing this warning with others.

Yesterday, we proudly participated in the Lexington Truck Pull benefiting Special Olympics Kentucky. Teams raised money for an incredible organization, then put their strength and teamwork to the test by pulling an 80,000-pound truck in a timed competition. We entered a mens team and a co-ed team in the event.

We’re thrilled to share that our Corrections Men’s Team recorded the fastest time and took home the win!

It was a great day of community, camaraderie, and friendly competition. We’re grateful to everyone who organized, participated in, and supported this meaningful event.
..and yes, it feels pretty great to get our title back!

Lexington’s Public Safety Operations Center will conduct scheduled phone maintenance on Monday, August 10. Maintenance will take place from approximately 5 a.m. until 7 a.m. During the maintenance period, administrative phone lines to the Public Safety Operations Center and Enhanced 9-1-1, including (859) 258-3600 and (859) 258-5600, will be temporarily unreachable. For emergency calls, 9-1-1 lines will remain fully operational. Text to 9-1-1 service will also remain available. Residents needing to reach the administrative phone lines should call 9-1-1-, and calls will be directed appropriately.

Today, we join together as a community to remember the heroes who gave everything for our country. We hold a special place in our hearts for our own Delmar White who was kill while serving back in 2007. Let us never take our freedom for granted. We wish everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.

This week, we join the nation in observing National Police Week. It is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and service of our law enforcement officers. We had the solemn honor of participating in today's wreath-laying ceremony. It was a moving reminder of the true cost of safety and the profound debt we owe to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We are proud to work with the Lexington Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, KY, and all of our other partners in Lexington to keep our community safe. You are in our hearts and thoughts as we move through this week of remembrance.

This National Correction Officers Week, we gathered for a solemn wreath-laying ceremony to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Our fallen brothers and sisters answered a calling that demands courage, integrity, and unwavering dedication. They stepped behind the walls every day to keep our community safe, and their legacy lives on in the daily service of the officers who continue to carry the watch.
We honor their memory not only through ceremony, but by looking out for those who still walk the beat today. By standing together and supporting one another, we ensure that no officer has to carry the weight of this profession alone.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off Correction Officers Appreciation Week with a morning of deep gratitude and meaningful legacy.
We were honored to receive a proclamation from Mayor Linda Gorton and a state proclamation from Governor Andy Beshear, presented by KY Representative George Brown Jr. These recognitions serve as a reminder of the vital role our officers play in maintaining public safety every single day.
The highlight of our ceremony was the official dedication of our Officers Dining Room to the late Chief of Corrections, Rodney Ballard. Chief Ballard was a titan in our field and a mentor to many. Naming this space in his honor ensures his legacy of leadership remains at the heart of our facility.

To our officers: Thank you for your courage, your professionalism, and your dedication. This week is for you!
