Earlier today, I had the honor of speaking on the historical significance of the site marker where R.C.O. Benjamin lost his life in the fight for voting rights - Precinct 32. His sacrifice serves as a powerful reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today were secured through the courage and perseverance of those who came before us. Because of trailblazers like Mr. Benjamin, people like me have the opportunity to serve our community and help strengthen our democracy.
