At approximately 12:45 am, Officer Allen was dispatched to the 100 Blk of West Boomer where a caller had stated they saw someone dressed in all black, snooping around houses. The caller indicated the individual had picked up a bike from one of the homes, but had dropped it when they realized someone was watching them.
While headed to the first call, dispatched received a second call, from a resident in the 500 Blk of W. Almond who indicated he heard a loud noise, said his dogs were going crazy and he heard glass break.
Upon arrival and after investigation, one individual was taken into custody where he was later transported to Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of:
***Two Counts of malicious injury to property
***One count of petty larceny
***One count of possession of a firearm (imitation) after felony conviction
***Unlawful carry of an offensive weapon
We would like to say THANK YOU to Purcell PD for assisting us on the call and to the citizens who were vigilant and called the PD when they saw or heard something. Everyone working together is what lead to the arrest of this individual.
Although we are unsure the exact route this individual had taken (walked) prior to our contact with him, we feel there may be additional property damages in town. If you find that your property has been damaged, or if you feel something has been taken, please reach out to the PD and let us know at 405-527-9881.
Additionally, contrary to speculation, harsh judgements and rumors, your PD is still here to serve and protect you, the citizens of this community. We care about you, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU, AND WE ARE NOT LEAVING YOU.
