Davidson County 4-H "Making the Best Better" in Davidson County! "4-H is a fun program where you get to "Learn by Doing." All youth between the ages of 5 and 19 are invited to join!

With more than 10,000 established 4-H programs across North Carolina, you can be a part of 4-H wherever you live. In 4-H you can go to camp, start a business, ride in a bike rodeo, take part in an international exchange, raise an animal, create a blog, give a presentation, participate in a community service project, develop your resume, practice interview skills, learn about healthy eating habits,

build lifelong friendships. Best of all, membership is FREE! 4-H costs nothing to join, and you are not required to purchase a uniform. Member expenses are minimal and determined by the club itself.....4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States with over 7 million participants. 4-H is best identified by its green four-leaf clover with an H on each leaf. As you may know, North Carolina 4-H recently introduced a new online option for completing project records through Kaleidoscope for the 2026 program year. As 4-H’ers and the adults who support them begin using the system, the state will be offering two virtual help sessions in September to answer questions and provide additional support.

These sessions are intended to be help sessions rather than introductory training. Participants are encouraged to access and explore Kaleidoscope beforehand and come prepared with questions based on their experience using the system.

Adult Help Session
Monday, September 21 | 7-8 p.m.
This session is designed for 4-H staff, volunteers, parents, guardians and other adults who support youth with project records. Participants can bring questions about navigating Kaleidoscope, the online project record process and supporting 4-H’ers as they work through their records.

Youth Help Session
Tuesday, September 22 | 7-8 p.m.
This session is designed for 4-H’ers who have begun exploring or working on their project record through Kaleidoscope. Youth should come prepared with questions about navigating the system and creating or completing their online project record.
*All youth must be accompanied by an adult during the session. Only one registration is needed for each youth and accompanying adult.

A new way to complete 4-H project records is here! 💻🍀

Beginning this year, North Carolina 4-H members can complete project records online through Kaleidoscope. This new option provides a more flexible, accessible way to document 4-H experiences while helping prepare youth for the digital tools they'll encounter in scholarships, college applications, internships and future careers.

During the 2026 transition year, members may choose between the new Kaleidoscope system, or the traditional document format.

We had a few people have to drop out of 4-H Investigates this week if anyone would like to come!

It's an amazing, hands-on camp that is a lot of fun. Lunch is included each day and each participant gets a t-shirt!

Wednesday-Friday. Each day is about 8:30 to 4:00.

We had the best week at NC 4-H Congress!

Huge congratulations to Claire Hedrick, Bella Hedrick, and Lucy Duran for winning trips through the AIRE competition to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta. Ethan Greer was also a state winner (one of only two) for the incredibly difficult National Leadership Conference competition. Very, very few 4-Hers get the opportunity to attend this trip!

Gwendolyn Oates and Lucy Duran were invited to perform in the NC Congress Talent Showcase. Gavin Oates was recognized in the first ever Senior Showcase.

Such a special group that really embodies everything 4-H stands for and continues to impress. Very proud of each one of them and so excited to see what will come next!

We even came home with one extra! Our new friend from Japan will be hosted in Davidson County through the 4-H International Exchange program for the next month.
