Congratulations to Walden Middle School Spanish teacher, Señor Manuel Nieto! He received a letter of recognition from the Kentucky World Language Association (KWLA) and was honored with the 2022 Kentucky Chapter NNELL (National Network of Early Language Learners) Outstanding Teachers award! The distinction nominates Señor Nieto for the Kentucky World Language Teacher of the Year award.

The Summer Program for Verbally and Mathematically Precocious Youth
(VAMPY) will be back again this summer, June 20- July 10, and the Arabic language and culture will be one of the classes students can take! Students interested in studying Arabic at VAMPY will also want to take note of the scholarship opportunity available. $2000 for any eligible student or the full amount of VAMPY tuition for students demonstrating financial need is available thanks to the Qatar Foundation International! The summer camp is taking place at the home of the World Council for Gifted Education at Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The deadline is approaching and scholarships are still available, apply now.
