The Fayette County Cooperative Extension Horticulture program provides educational training and technical assistance to our community. Our technical services include soil testing, disease diagnosis, and plant, weed, and insect identification. Cooperative Extension is the major provider of research-based information for consumers and horticulture businesses. The University of Kentucky is committed

The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky is hosting a free workshop, in collaboration with the American Public Gardens Association (APGA): “Plant Health Monitoring—How YOU Can Help!”

In a world of global trade and changing climate there are frequently new threats to plant health, and early detection is the key to successful management. Participating in this workshop will help you to recognize signs of these pests and diseases in your own community and to know how to react.

If you’re looking to broaden your horticultural training and help protect plants around you, then this workshop is for you! This event is free, but registration is required. To register, email The Arboretum at [email protected]

Grow your own food! Join Fayette County Extension horticulture staff, our master gardener volunteers, and the incredibly talented students & teachers at The Learning Center for a day jam packed with learning and fun!

We hope to see you this Saturday May 9 from 10AM to 1PM at The Learning Center (475 Price Rd, Lexington, KY, 40508). Attend 15-minute lessons to earn a free bundle of transplants and seeds.
