🇺🇸 Celebrating Flag Day with a few fun facts!

First defined in 1777 with 13 stars and stripes, the U.S. flag has grown with our nation, including the 15th star for Kentucky.

The Star-Spangled Banner, made in 1813 and inspiration for our national anthem, still stands as a symbol of resilience, just like 4-H youth who are to lead and serve.

Did you know 4-H clubs can request a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol from their federal legislators?

When military youth move, their whole world shifts: schools, friends, routines, and support systems.

In this episode of the OneOp Practicing Connection podcast, Christian County 4-H Agent Jeremiah Johnson shares how 4-H and school liaisons work together to support military-connected youth through these transitions—helping them stay connected and feel like they belong.

💬 “4-H can be that consistency… it creates that sense of belonging for those youth.”

How it started ➡️ How it’s going

Years ago, Bethany Barber got her very first start in Kentucky 4-H by joining her county's 4-H Babysitting Club, discovering a passion for caring for others. She just finished as your 4-H state secretary. While she is retiring her green jacket, this won't be her last time on campus, as she will be attending UK this fall!

Thank you for your outstanding dedication this past year, Bethany, and good luck as you take this next big step into your future!
