The Lexington Division of Emergency Management has activated Phase 1 of its Extreme Heat Plan. The activation is in effect today (Monday, July 27th) through tomorrow evening (Tuesday, July 28th).
At this stage of activation:
βοΈ Partner organizations of the Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention will operate as cooling stations
π Lextran will offer free, fixed route rides to identified cooling stations for individuals experiencing homelessness
π’ Outreach teams will be in the community distributing supplies and assisting persons in accessing cooling stations and shaded spaces.
