Did you know that Lexington Children's Place, our town-run preschool, is not a luxury, it’s a state-mandated service? Providing LCP with its own appropriately designed space is fiscally responsible, will add capacity to our overcrowded elementary schools, and is just the right thing to do for our youngest learners.
To quote one mother of LCP students: "We support LCP because our children have gained so much from public preschool. For our oldest, who has multiple disabilities, public preschool has allowed her to attend school in her home community with her peers and learn how to walk independently and communicate. We also decided to enroll our son, who is typically developing, at LCP so he had the opportunity to learn alongside children of all abilities. The lessons of compassion, empathy, acceptance, and kindness he has gained are invaluable and naturally flow from the educational model that LCP embraces. Please vote yes for LCP on December 4th—a critically important program for our community, not just for the benefit of our youngest and most vulnerable children with disabilities, but for the benefit of all of our children."
