The Lexington-Fayette Urban Country Human Rights Commission investigates discrimination complaints in Employment, Housing and Public Accommodation. The Commission is also tasked with enforcement of local Americans with Disabilities Act access violations as well as the local conversion therapy ban.

The Commission honored retiring Councilmember, Susan Lamb at last night’s council meeting. Councilmember Lamb was presented with a resolution in honor of her many years of dedication to the citizens of Lexington as a Councilmember and employee of LFUCG. We wish her the best of luck with her retirement! We thank her for always supporting the work and mission of the Commission!

The 73rd Annual IAOHRA conference has begun. It is great to be back in person and sharing best practices in civil rights enforcement!
The Commission presented intern, KinsLeigh Jones with a certificate of appreciation for her outstanding service to the Commission this summer. KinsLeigh is a Human Rights Studies major at the University of Dayton. Thank you KinsLeigh and best of luck as you return to school this fall.
HRC Fact: in FY 22, the Commission secured over $19,000 in monetary relief to Complainants.

INVESTIGATOR I
Beginning Salary Range: $32,364.62 - $35,342.94
Filing Deadline: July 29, 2022
Performs routine investigation involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations pursuant to Federal, State and Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Ordinances 199-94 and 201-99 under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director. This is an entry-level position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Associates degree in Business, Psychology, Personnel, Labor Relations, Social Work or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Basic keyboarding and word processing skills also desired.
2. Possession of a valid driver’s license and have the ability to provide your own transportation.
EXAMINATION applicant will be required to complete a writing exercise.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission offers an outstanding benefit package with includes: insurance (health, dental & vision), three (3) weeks vacation and three weeks (3) sick leave per year.
An LFUC-HRC application with required documents to verify your education, training or certification/licenses must be submitted by the deadline date. Applicants must be able to perform all essential job functions as identified in the job posting.
Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The position will be open until a qualified applicant is hired.
