Library is open regular hours today. Pardon the mess. The parking lot entrance is currently closed, but our west entrance along Kansas Avenue is open. Just a short walk around the corner.

UPDATE!:
We talked to Scantlin's and the plan is to have the check out area tiled today and to work on the main hallway after that. We will have the North Entrance closed while they put in new tile. The entrance by the big book will be open! Just like old times! There will be a little walk to get there from the parking lot, unless you park on Kansas Avenue. But with the cars whizzing by, you might just want to do the walk from the parking lot. Excited to see everyone tomorrow. We miss everyone and look forward to getting back to what passes for normal.

TUESDAY! We sure hope to be open on Tuesday. The tear-out of the old tile has been mostly completed and the majority of the dust issues have been resolved. Now to clean up the library and get ready. There will still be a mess and maybe some re-routing at you use the library.
But the cool news: New tile has been laid!
See you soon!

As the quote on the back wall reads "Headed for Greatness"!
Today's update: More floor scraping and leveling of the floor in the old part of the library by the checkout desks. A few more days of scraping and dust.

But good news, tile is expected to start being laid on Tuesday and the Library will (fingers crossed!) be once again livable.

It also says "Please don't touch spooky heads" and that's probably some good advice this time of year.

The guys from Scantlin's Furniture are moving quick on the floor. Almost all the old orange tile is gone. Now the fun part of scraping the floors.
So much dust! Even with all the openings around the remodel blocked off, the smell of the dust is there.
We will keep you posted when we re-open! Yes. There will be cookies and punch when this is all done.

Thank you to Nancy Honig from Kansas State Extension Wild West District for teaching us about the world of Oils & Vinegars! We had a great time learning what foods to use these with and sampling quite a variety!

Library closed!
The Library will close today at 3pm due to construction. We had to make that choice after realizing the amount of dust being generated and the concern of it spreading throughout the library.
Our contractor has been working nights, but can only get so much done. We are hoping that closing will give them the uninterrupted time they need to make a lot of progress.
We expect to be closed the rest of the week.
We will keep you posted as progress is made.
