Dear Friends,

As you know, the Friends of the Library will hold its book sale on September 12th from 9 am to 3 pm. We need assistance on the following days.

On 9/8 prior to our 7 pm FOL meeting at 5:45 pm we will be setting up the tables.
On 9/9 at 3:15 pm, the LC Cross Country team will carry out the boxes of books from storage, and we need people to arrange the books on the tables.
9/10-9/11 there will be a presale for members only (no volunteers needed)
9/12 Sale from 9 am to 3 pm. There are still some time slots where we need volunteers to sell the book bags

Reminder: If you wish to decorate a Christmas Tree for the November Basket Sale, you can pick up a tree a half hour prior to the Friends meeting on 9/8

📚 Friends of the Library Update

Meeting Date Change

Please note that our next Friends of the Library meeting has been moved from Monday, September 14, to Tuesday, September 8.

At this meeting, we'll be finalizing plans for our Book Sale on Saturday, September 12. We need volunteers to help make this event a success! Whether you can spare an hour to help with setup, work during the sale, or assist with cleanup, your time and support would be greatly appreciated. If you're interested in volunteering, please let me know or plan to attend the meeting.

🎄 Calling All Creative Minds!

Yes, we know... it's still summer! But as everyone knows, Christmas has a way of arriving much faster than we expect. That's why we're getting an early start on one of our favorite annual fundraisers—our Silent Auction.

We're looking for volunteers to decorate one of our small Christmas trees for the Silent Auction on November 15th. Each tree should have a fun, cohesive theme. A favorite children's book is one example, but we'd love to see any creative idea you can dream up!

Trees will be available for pickup on September 8 between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. before our meeting. We have a limited number of trees, so be sure to reserve yours early if you'd like to participate.

If you do not want to decorate a Christmas Tree, please consider donating a themed basket for the auction.

Thank you for helping make our Friends of the Library events and fundraisers such a wonderful success. We couldn't do it without our amazing volunteers!

What a fantastic evening at the Friends of the Library's BBQ Bingo! 🎉

Congratulations to all of our lucky winners who took home delicious meat prizes from Sattler Meats, along with a donated $10 Sattler Meats gift card. The fun didn't stop there—everyone who purchased a noodle game walked away with a mystery prize, making sure there were plenty of smiles all around!

Guests also enjoyed complimentary snacks and drinks while spending an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our Friends of the Library members who worked behind the scenes to organize the event, set up, and donate prizes. We are especially grateful to Patty Strock, Mary Foster, Doris Reighard, and Shirley Barlow for their generous donations and continued support.

Events like this are only possible because of the generosity of our volunteers, donors, and everyone who came out to support the Friends of the Library. Thank you for making BBQ Bingo such a wonderful success—we can't wait to see you at our next event! 100% of the receipts go toward books and programs for the Liberty Center Library.

The Friends of the Liberty Center Library have several exciting events and opportunities coming up, and we'd love for you to be a part of them!

📅 Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be Monday, August 3, at 7:00 PM, and everyone is welcome! Whether you're a longtime member or simply curious about what we do, we'd love to have you join us.

🎉 BBQ Bingo Fundraiser – Thursday, July 30

Join us for an evening of fun, food, and Bingo!

Doors Open: 5:00 PM
Bingo Begins: 6:00 PM

We're also looking for a few helping hands to set up tables and chairs that morning at 9:30 AM. If you have an hour to spare, your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

📚 Liberty Days Book Sale – September 12

We're hoping to hold our annual Liberty Days Book Sale, but we need volunteers to make it happen. We need help with:

* Setting up the sale
* Selling books during the event
* Cleaning up and packing the remaining books afterward

If you're willing to lend a hand for any part of the day, please contact me for more information. With enough volunteers, we can continue this popular community tradition.

🎄 Annual Silent Auction – November 15

Our final fundraiser of the year is our Annual Silent Auction on November 15.

Now is the perfect time to begin gathering items for a themed gift basket or to create a beautifully decorated pre-lit Christmas tree for donation. If you'd like to decorate a tree but don't have one, we may be able to provide one for you.

Looking for inspiration? Visit the Friends of the Library page to see photos of baskets and trees donated in previous years, or contact one of our officers—we'd be happy to help you come up with ideas.

We are always grateful for donations, and every contribution helps make this event a success.
❤️ Where Does the Money Go?
Every dollar raised by the Friends of the Library stays right here in our community and goes directly toward supporting the Liberty Center Library.

Because of your generosity, we have been able to:

* Purchase new children's computers.
* Provide all the snacks, drinks, and books for the Summer Reading Program.
* Purchase thousands of dollars' worth of new books requested by the library staff.
* Support programs and resources that benefit library patrons of all ages.

🙋 Volunteers Make It All Possible

The Friends of the Library simply couldn't do what we do without volunteers.

Whether you can spare an hour helping at a fundraiser, volunteer at the book sale, donate a basket or decorated tree for the Silent Auction, assist with event setup and cleanup, or attend our monthly meetings, your time and talents make a real difference.

It was our pleasure purchasing the drinks, snacks and books for the Summer Reading Program.

As our Summer Reading program winds down, the LCPL would like to take a moment to thank our generous sponsors and donors for making all of our summer fun possible! Various groups and businesses have not only assisted financially, but have helped fill goodie bags, prepared books for children to add to their home libraries, and have volunteered their time each Tuesday to make Summer Reading the BEST it can be! Your support allows us to continue making a difference in the lives of the children of our community. Thank you!
