Amanda, Logan and I spent our morning here at the polls meeting folks and waving, but are packing up soon for prior engagements! (It’s a great day for 10U baseball ⚾️!)

However this evening goes, we’re so grateful for the incredible support we’ve seen, and hopefully the citizens give us the opportunity to serve you going forward!

If you’ve been around Liberty Hill for a while, you’ve likely heard of Mr. Gary Spivey, the Historian of Liberty Hill. While Gary isn’t on social media (something many of us should probably envy), he reached out today through a mutual friend and asked that I share the attached letter.

I’m incredibly humbled to have received Gary’s endorsement, and I encourage you to take two minutes to read the wisdom he shared.

If you happened to miss this month’s edition of The Liberty Hill Digest, here’s the quick biography that kicked off the article!

“I am a 38-year-old Native Texan, father of three, and I have the honor of marrying the most incredible woman this April! Nearly my entire adult life has been dedicated to public service, having served as a police officer for 15 years. Raised in Georgetown, I’ve called Liberty Hill home since 2019. I’ve coached youth baseball, led Bible studies, taught police cadet classes at community college, and also served on Liberty Hill’s Home Rule Charter Commission. I currently serve as a commissioner on Liberty Hill’s Planning and Zoning Commission, where I routinely work with City staff and current council members.”

Wow, it’s truly been yet another eye-opening experience running for public office again, and we’re still two weeks away from Election Day on May 3rd! 🤯 I’m sorry the other side has gotten nasty, either publicly or via inbox, with threats and intimidation tactics.

I’ll pledge to you that you’ll get none of that from me, or those that claim to support me. If I find out we sunk to their level I’ll be the first to speak out against it. We both signed ethics agreements that say just that, and I at least intend to adhere to it.

I’m grateful for this opportunity to lead and serve our community and I can’t thank you enough for the overwhelming support I’ve received from all over town!

You absolutely HAVE to check out the candidate Q&A in this month’s issue of The Liberty Hill Independent! As a fun little reminder, candidates are warned that their responses will be printed exactly as submitted—complete with any random or misused words, spelling mistakes, or grammatical errors.

Sure, we’re running for public office, but this is absolutely a job interview with the public. Putting your best foot forward is crucial!

Last Thursday, I had the privilege of officially filing my candidacy for Mayor of Liberty Hill. Councilmember Amanda Young and I filed our election and reelection paperwork together as a demonstration of our mutual support for one another and our commitment to serving our community.

We were also joined by Councilmembers Wade Ashley and Diane Williams, underscoring our shared dedication to working collaboratively for the benefit of Liberty Hill residents. Since the neck-and-neck special election last May, I’ve had the honor of serving as a commissioner on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission and have had the opportunity to work alongside many of our crucial city staff members and other elected officials to help bring about smart growth to our not-so-little city.

Our current councilmembers have done an exceptional job navigating many challenges in order to serve the city, though it has not been without difficulties, particularly since last May’s special election. I encourage you to speak with them to learn more and, most importantly, make your voice heard by voting on May 3rd!

Hello Liberty Hill! A longer read than I would normally ask of you, but please read this in its entirety.

Thank you everyone that messaged me about the bogus text messages that have been going out, making defamatory claims against me. I despise the fact that our little community has attracted the kind of politics we see in Austin, DC, and other states. Someone apparently sought “professional” assistance in ensuring I am not elected to be your next Mayor.

Note the quotation marks above. A quick Google search will show you the registered agent of this PAC is Thomas Datwyler. Further reading reveals his name appears in an overwhelming number of news articles, from all spectrums of the political world, as someone with a questionable history of sustained violations of ethics and the amount of fines he has been assessed makes me wonder how he still manages to put food on his family’s table. Most of the articles reveal he is a part of a company that is notorious for violating contract and expense requirements, all while serving as either a campaign finance treasurer or creating an “overnight” PAC. If you peruse over to their page on Facebook, the page appears to have been created roughly 6 months ago. Their only endorsement was for a Sheriff candidate in Galveston County which is a part of the Gulf Coast.

Again, I hate the fact that this type of political environment has come into our city. Liberty Hill, it’s citizens and the hardworking employees deserve better.

As a response to slander: I have not been “let go” from two agencies. Anyone who desires to state otherwise should post the facts along with the sources. Here is a hint – these facts do not exist and there are no sources. As those who may be claiming such, know slander is an actionable legal option.

The image of my personal history report from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is public record. Used in the context of the misleading information it is easy to take the bait. Anyone can easily look this information up. After all, I am the only candidate in this Mayoral race that has led an adult life of public service, which is subject to the scrutiny of public record, search and opinion. I have known this all along and I have conducted myself accordingly.

Have questions on this – don’t waste your time sending in the requests to TCOLE – ask me for a copy of it and I will personally give you a copy. In fact, I will log into my account with you sitting there next to me and you can see even more detail than what is being perverted into slanderous, political warfare. Was I let go from two law enforcement agencies? No. My employment from Georgetown PD was terminated over an administrative reason, simply because I did not have any due process protections. The Chief of Police at that time was known for violating employment laws in Texas, which was evident when a subsequent terminated employee took her case to the Appellate Court system and won. Since I was less than a year in, I did not have the same protections the more seasoned officer had under state law.

Was I released from employment from Burnet PD? No. After nine years of dedicated, honorable service, I resigned from Burnet PD and received an Honorable Discharge, in good standing. Trust, I have the documentation to prove so.

Have I ever applied at Liberty Hill PD? Yes, many years ago. Was I hired? No. Unfortunately, potential employers do not have to give a reason why a person was not selected.

At the end of the day, folks, I am an open book and will sit down with anyone and have thoughtful conversations. My campaign is simple- Transparency, Integrity and Accountability.

I will not take money from PAC’s or corporations that could create a conflict (or the perception of such), and more importantly, I will not hire, nor endorse a cloak and dagger organization to come after those seeking the same office I am asking your vote for.

I will be sending correspondence to my opponent on this matter asking that she clarify that she did not have any affiliation with anyone from this organization, and she has no involvement with these slanderous lies, per the Code of Fair Campaign Practices that she signed on January 30th, 2024. Of course, subsequent verification efforts will occur.
