On August 4, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) visited the Liberty Hill Police Department and conducted a credentialing file audit, as well as an inspection to assess compliance with administrative rules. We are pleased to report that the department passed with no deficiencies identified during the audit.

Liberty Hill Police Department - July 2026 Statistics

During the month of July, our officers responded to or self-initiated 3237 calls for service. Officers made 803 traffic stops resulting in 796 warnings and 283 citations. Other numbers include:
- 54 cases/reports written
- 18 persons arrested
- 24 items submitted to our Evidence Unit
- 6 driving while intoxicated reports
- 5 theft reports
- 18 disturbances responded to
- 42 agency assists
- 38 calls of suspicious activity, and
- 35 traffic accidents

That means that school zones will be active as well. Liberty Hill Officers will be out and about to help ensure everyone gets to their destinations safely.

⏰ With increased traffic, plan for extra travel time
👀 Stay alert for pedestrians and cyclists
🛑 Stop for busses loading and unloading (remember, buses must stop at railroad crossings too!)
🚗 Follow speed limits and traffic laws

Officer Chris Jones is a graduate of the Southwest Texas College Law Enforcement Academy, and Officer David Garza comes to us from the Lakeway Police Department. Both officers bring their dedication and passion for serving their community, and we are honored that they chose Liberty Hill!

UPDATE 1:50 PM: Roadway has reopened.
Please note that Texas Transportation Code § 545.410 and 37 Texas Administrative Code § 21.5 outline the requirements for towing safety chains.

UPDATE: 12:39 PM - All lanes of 1869 are currently closed.

Officers are currently working a traffic incident on RM 1869 at Carl Shipp Dr (near the Liberty Hill Post Office) where the southbound lane is closed. Please use an alternate route if possible and plan for extra travel time.

UPDATE 11:00 AM: Roadway has been reopened.

Officers are currently working an injury accident on W SH 29 at Stonewall Parkway where eastbound lanes are blocked. Please use an alternate route if possible and plan for extra travel time.

Liberty Hill Police Department - June 2026 Statistics

During the month of June, our officers responded to or self-initiated 3307 calls for service. Officers made 711 traffic stops resulting in 659 warnings and 294 citations. Other numbers include:
- 57 cases/reports written
- 13 persons arrested
- 51 items submitted to our Evidence Unit
- 3 driving while intoxicated reports
- 8 theft reports
- 23 disturbances responded to
- 67 agency assists
- 48 calls of suspicious activity, and
- 30 traffic accidents

🚨 BEST BOY ALERT 🚨

On June 22, 2026 at approximately 5:32 PM, officers stopped a vehicle in the 14000 block of W SH 29. K9 Rick conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert.

Inside the vehicle, officers located:

4.1g fentanyl
62.6g methamphetamine9g he**in
14.9g ma*****na
5.2g mushrooms
45.5g THC wax, and
assorted drug paraphernalia

The driver and passenger were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The passenger also had an outstanding warrant for parole violation.

- 51 cases/reports written
- 14 persons arrested
- 31 items submitted to our Evidence Unit
- 5 driving while intoxicated reports
- 10 theft reports
- 17 disturbances responded to
- 49 agency assists
- 31 calls of suspicious activity, and
- 26 traffic accidents
