Thank you, Spokane County Fire District 9, for the generous donation of new-to-us turnout gear for our Fire Science program. This new gear will absolutely level up the experience for our students!

Thank you to the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) for featuring Central Valley School District Superintendent Dr. John Parker in their TURN2 Tuesday series, highlighting what gives educational leaders hope for the future.

“At Central Valley SD, our motto is Creating Infinite Possibilities for All Students! My greatest source of hope is the confidence that we're providing tools to equip our graduates for launch.”

Dr. Parker shared how a strong sense of belonging, high-quality instruction, Career and Technical Education opportunities, and pathways that allow students to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree help prepare students for success beyond graduation.

“Whatever their chosen trajectories, access to the tools for success is in our schools, free for the taking. Seeing our students take ownership of their infinite possibilities gives me hope.”

🚗 Wheelin' Into Preschool at Central Valley Early Learning Center

Congratulations to Central Valley Early Learning Center on receiving a Kindness 911 Citation from the Spokane Police Department for its annual "Wheelin' Into Preschool" event!

This community celebration introduces families to preschool opportunities while providing valuable resources, building relationships, and connecting families with support services. Throughout the year, the Early Learning Center's team of 13 Family Support Specialists works alongside families to help them overcome barriers, access resources, set goals, and support children's success in school and beyond.

Central Valley Early Learning Center provides high-quality early learning experiences that prepare children for kindergarten and empower families with tools and resources to thrive.

Great job to the ELC Family Support Specialists and everyone involved for their commitment to supporting children, families, and our community through kindness, compassion, and service!

Spokane Police Officer Richardson had the pleasure of presenting a Kindness Citation to the Central Valley Early Learning Center for their “Wheelin’ Into Preschool” event and community celebration.

The Family Support Specialist team at the Central Valley Early Learning Center was honored to receive this Kindness Citation. Their annual "Wheelin' Into Preschool" event is a community celebration that brings families together while introducing them to the opportunities available through preschool education. While this event serves as a large recruitment effort, it is also an opportunity to connect with families, build relationships, provide a wide array of community resources, and give back to our community.

This year their team of 13 Family Support Specialists worked year-round to support children and families through Washington State's Mobility Mentoring framework and prioritized family support services. They are dedicated to helping families overcome barriers, access resources, and recognize the lifelong importance of early childhood education.

The Central Valley Early Learning Center is a school, not a childcare center. They provide high-quality early learning experiences that prepare children for kindergarten, while Family support Specialists meet with families to set goals and provide tools and resources to help them succeed as a family. They are grateful for this recognition and remain committed to serving their community with kindness, compassion, and a belief that every child deserves a strong start.
