If you see either of these items or someone selling a large amount of trading cards, please contact the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477) or our detectives at 816-439-4730.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to protecting the freedoms we enjoy each day will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to those who laid down their lives for their fellow Americans and for the generations that followed.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember the heroes who made that freedom possible.

We honor the fallen. We remember their sacrifice. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

We would also like to honor the memories of your loved ones. Please feel free to share the names and stories of friends or family members who served in the Armed Forces and gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.

As Memorial Day Weekend begins, we are reminding everyone to make safety a priority while traveling and celebrating with family and friends.

If your plans include cookouts, lake trips, graduations, or time with friends, please make a plan to drive sober. Impaired driving puts everyone on the road at risk and can change lives in an instant. There is never a good excuse to drive impaired.

We also ask drivers to slow down, stay off their phones, and buckle up. With gas prices around $4.19 a gallon, easing up on the accelerator will help you save on fuel, and a lot of money, during your holiday travels. Your wallet will appreciate the slower speed just as much as your passengers do.

Our officers will be out throughout the weekend working to keep our community and roadways safe. Please help us by making smart choices behind the wheel so everyone can enjoy a safe Memorial Day Weekend. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Last night, Sgt. Childs and Cpl. Conner proudly represented the Liberty Police Honor Guard while assisting the Liberty Fire Department Honor Guard in presenting the colors before the Kansas City Royals game. It is always a tremendous honor to take part in such a special pregame ceremony and represent the Liberty community on a major league stage.

The night was even more memorable because Sgt. Childsโ€™ son and Cpl. Connerโ€™s son were both in attendance, proudly cheering on their dads from the stands as they helped present the colors on the field. Moments like these serve as a reminder that service is truly a family commitment, and the support of loved ones means everything.

We are grateful for the strong partnership between the Liberty Police and Liberty Fire honor guards and proud of the professionalism and pride displayed during last nightโ€™s ceremony.

As part of National Police Week, our Wellness Committee showed appreciation by serving breakfast!

As Police Week comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who took the time to show support, share kind words, and recognize the men and women who serve their communities every day.

This week is always a reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their families, while also honoring those who gave everything in the line of duty. The encouragement, appreciation, and respect shown throughout the week truly means more than words can express!

Peace Officers Memorial Day

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed into law, designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week. This marked the beginning of a national tradition of honoring our nationals fallen officers.

This day pays tribute to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. It is part of National Police Week, which honors the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the United States. ๐Ÿ’™

During National Police Week, moments like this remind us what community policing is all about.

After clearing a call, Sergeant Bratcher took a moment to shoot and swish a basketball shot with a group of neighborhood kids. While Officer Holden gave it his best effort, the rim had other plans. Sergeant Bratcher, however, delivered in the clutch and added another highlight to his legendary Liberty Police basketball career.

Sergeant Bratcherโ€™s official career LPD stats are:
๐Ÿ€ 2 points scored
๐Ÿš” Countless community connections made

Sometimes the best part of the job is simply taking a moment to connect, laugh, and build relationships with the people we serve and those we work with.
