Two Liberty Police Department officers, including an LPD K9 unit, responded to the 300 block of Meadow Lane following a report of a disturbance involving a firearm and a battery.

During the investigation, officers determined that a handgun had allegedly been fired outside the entrance of the apartment building and that a separate battery had occurred resulting in injury. Following further investigation, Liberty Police officers recovered the handgun believed to have been involved in the incident.
Tyler Beach was arrested on preliminary felony charges including Criminal Recklessness and Battery Resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury. Beach was evaluated by Reid Health EMS personnel at the scene and was later transported to the Union County Jail, where he was booked without incident. The individuals involved in the battery were also evaluated by EMS personnel and released at the scene.

Chief Dickenson would like to thank Lieutenant Jeff Franklin of the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Reid Health EMS team for their assistance on scene.
As with all criminal cases, the charges listed above are allegations. Beach is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

After 18 years of dedicated service, Jenny Brown is beginning a new chapter. Jenny has served as our 911 Director for over 10 years, providing exceptional leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to our officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and the citizens we proudly serve.
We also want to thank Emily Cantrell, who has faithfully served as one of our dispatchers for the past three years. Emily has been an important part of our communications team, helping ensure that calls for service were handled quickly, professionally, and with genuine care for our community.
Please join us in thanking Jenny Brown and Emily Cantrell for their dedication, and wishing them both the very best in the next chapter of their lives.

The Liberty Police Department is proud to recognize Officer Tanner Earl, who was recently presented with a Life Saving Award for his actions during a life-threatening emergency.

Officer Earl worked alongside members of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Stansberry of the Union County Sheriff's Office, Union County Dispatch, and responding EMS personnel to provide life-saving care. Through the combined efforts of everyone involved, a life was saved.

We are proud of Officer Earl's professionalism and commitment to serving our community. We also extend our appreciation to the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Stansberry, Union County Dispatch, and EMS personnel for their teamwork and dedication during this incident.

*Fentanyl Arrest*

On June 19th 2026, Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle near Scratch Gravel Road in Union County. Once deputies arrived on scene they located a female driver unresponsive inside the vehicle. While trying to wake the driver deputies observed two syringes located inside a can in the drivers side door. Liberty Police Department K-9 Rogue was called to the scene and K-9 Rogue gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. After the positive indication deputies and officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located multiple syringes and a brown powdery substance. The substance field tested positive for fentanyl. Also located was three loose pills that were identified as a controlled substance.
We want to thank the Liberty Police Department and K-9 Rouge for their assistance.
After being evaluated at Reid Health, Brandy Baker (42) of Liberty, was lodged in the Union County Jail. Baker was charged with Possession of fentanyl a narcotic drug, possession of a legend drug, and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

On the evening of June 17, 2026, officers with the Liberty Police Department responded to a residence located at 214 W. High Street in Liberty, Indiana, regarding a report of an intruder inside the home.
Officers responded to the residence while the incident was still ongoing. Upon arrival, officers encountered an active disturbance involving property damage and a physical altercation outside the home. Officers intervened to stop the fighting and prevent further injuries and damage to the home.
The ensuing investigation determined that an unlawful entry had occurred while multiple minors were present inside the home. Investigators documented extensive property damage, including numerous shattered windows and damage to personal property throughout the residence. Evidence gathered during the investigation established probable cause that Cheyenne Crowder, 18, had engaged in physical altercations with multiple occupants of the residence, including two minors.

As a result of the investigation, Crowder was taken into custody. Crowder was transported to Reid Health for medical evaluation before being lodged at the Union County Jail.

Crowder is currently facing multiple charges, including:
*Burglary
*Residential Entry
*Attempted Escape
*Battery
*Battery on Law Enforcement
*Battery by Bodily Waste on Law Enforcement
*Resisting Law Enforcement

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Yesterday, the Liberty Police Department responded to a report of a Jeep that had run a truck off the roadway. Officers located and stopped the vehicle while the Union County Sheriff’s Office assisted the driver of the truck.

**Chief Todd Dickenson and his K9 partner, Rogue, were called to the scene. K9 Rogue alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a syringe.
**Darren Fox of Lawrenceburg, Indiana was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, and possession of paraphernalia.
**The Union County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
