FOX ABC Maine featured our cause recently showcasing our final stretch to raise the remaining $45,000 to protect Haystack Mountain. We still have winter hats for sale on the Friends of Haystack Mountain website that will help us reach our goal!

MONTVILLE--Haystack Mountain is a beautiful spot that straddles the towns of Liberty and Montville. It's been used by skiers, hikers and school children for years.

New StoryWalk®! Strap on your snowshoes and go for a hike.
Seven children work together to navigate their way up a steep, icy hill so that they can enjoy an exciting sled ride in "The Iciest, Diciest, Scariest Sled Ride Ever!" by Rebecca Rule ; illustrated by Jennifer Thermes.
Haystack Mountain Trail is behind Walker Elementary School. This 1.1-mile footpath loop winds through a mixed northern hardwoods forest with a short spur to the open summit. Take the road on the left of the Walker Health Center and park at the ball field behind it. Address: 43 West Main St. Liberty, ME.
The Liberty Library received a grant from the Maine Public Library Fund (MPLF) for a collaboration with the Friends of Haystack Mountain to set up a new StoryWalk® four times a year – one per season – for four years. We hope you enjoy them.
