Today we wrapped up the end of our 4-H Summer Fun days!! We made our own squishys, painted, made pizza waffles for lunch, played legos, and enjoyed a watermelon!!! We will have more 4-H activities throughout the school year. Watch our page for future activities!

Today we wrapped up our two day cooking skills for teens class. They learned kitchen safety, cutting skills, how to cut up a whole chicken, and about different spices. Yesterday they prepared grab and go breakfast foods and today they had to practice real life skills of cooking with what you have. They were each given 3 ingredients and they had to use items we had on hand to prepare a meal/recipe of their choice.

Congratulations Hope Cooley Amite County 4-Her for her beautiful colored pencil artwork. The woodpecker drawing placed first in it’s division at the State 4-H Wildlife Art Contest and her horse drawing placed 2nd in the her division at the State Horse Art Contest.

The Amite County MSU Extension Office is closed today. We will open Monday. July 6.

I have two spots open for the 4-H sewing class on July 7 , 1:30-4:00 class. Preferably 12-18 years old, sewing experience great but not required. Let me know ASAP if you have a young person interested. It is ok if they are not in 4-H, we can sign them up!
