Kimesville Fire Rescue and Liberty Fire participated in multi company training.

During this week’s training night, firefighters had the opportunity to work in an abandoned house, allowing us to practice realistic fireground operations in a controlled environment. Crews trained while wearing full turnout gear, SCBA air packs, and face masks, navigating through simulated smoke conditions that reduced visibility and challenged firefighters to rely on their training, teamwork, and equipment.

Fire Prevention Week at Nathanael Greene School!

Our firefighters had a wonderful opportunity to visit with the kindergarten students at Nathanael Greene School !
After reading one of our favorite books, Firefighters’ Busy Day, firefighters demonstrated the protective gear they wear to keep themselves safe while battling fires.

The students enjoyed learning about what firefighters wear and how they prepare to help keep our community safe.

A special thank-you to Mr. Green, the teachers, staff, and students for their warm hospitality and for making us feel so welcome!

Today’s visit was extra special because it felt a little like a homecoming! Two of the firefighters delivering the presentation were once students at Nathanael Greene themselves. It was a wonderful opportunity to return to their school, give back to the community, and inspire the next generation.

As part of Fire Prevention Week, firefighters from Liberty Fire Department, Kimesville Fire & Rescue, Staley Fire Department, and Julian Fire Department participated in a school-wide fire drill at Liberty Elementary School.

Following the evacuation and accountability check, firefighters conducted a search of the school to reinforce the importance of emergency procedures and fire safety preparedness. Students then had the opportunity to tour the fire apparatus, learn about firefighting equipment, and interact with firefighters from the participating departments.

Events like these help students become more familiar with firefighters and teach valuable lessons about fire safety, emergency preparedness, and what to do when an alarm sounds. We appreciate the partnership of Liberty Elementary School and the support of all the departments that helped make this educational event a success.
