Kimesville, Liberty, Julian, Mt Hope, Snow Camp, Climax, Southeast, and Staley working together on water supply training.

In rural communities, teamwork between fire departments isn’t just important—it’s essential.

Without hydrants in many areas, we rely on each other to make it happen. From establishing a steady water supply through drafting, to setting up and managing drop tanks, and keeping the flow of water moving with tanker shuttle operations—it takes coordination, communication, and trust.

Every department, every apparatus, and every firefighter plays a critical role. When we train together and operate as one team, we’re able to deliver the water needed to protect lives and property, no matter how remote the location.

This is why mutual aid and ongoing training matter. When the call comes in, we don’t work as separate departments—we work as one.

Stronger together. Always readyi

We had a great time at the Touch-A-Truck event in Asheboro, hanging out with everyone—and of course, Sparky was a big hit!

From high-fives to photos, Sparky loved meeting all the kids (and a few adults too!). Events like this are a great way for us to connect with our community, share fire safety tips, and remind everyone that firefighters are your friends.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun day

Calling 911 early during a medical emergency can make the difference between life and death.

First, it gets trained professionals on the way immediately. Dispatchers can begin helping you right away—giving step-by-step instructions like CPR, bleeding control, or how to assist someone who is choking—while responders are en route.

Second, time is critical. In emergencies like cardiac arrest, stroke, severe trauma, or breathing problems, every minute without care increases the risk of serious complications or death. Early activation of 911 shortens the time to lifesaving treatment
