Liberty Fire Department mourns the loss of George Lawson, who served faithfully on our board for many years. George gave his time, wisdom, and heart to this department, and his steady presence helped guide us through countless decisions that shaped who we are today.

Beyond his service on the board, George spent decades in law enforcement with the Fort Smith and Muldrow police departments, earning the respect and friendship of everyone who served alongside him. That same dedication and care carried over into everything he did for Liberty Fire.

He will be deeply missed by our department family. Our thoughts are with George’s family and all who loved him during this difficult time.

Rest easy, George. 🙏

We ask Jaci Conley if she would paint a mural on the wall of the fire dept. We told her we wanted something with an eagle, Maltese cross, the American flag, and Isiah 6:8 and the final product is absolute 🔥 🔥. If you need any type of artwork I highly recommend!!

Each year , Anheuser-Busch pauses beer production to produce emergency drinking water, and in partnership with National Volunteer Fire Council, ensures volunteer firefighters have the critical hydration they need during extreme heat. We’re proud to be one of the departments receiving this donation to help keep our firefighters hydrated during wildfires. A big thank you to Belle Point Beverages for delivering the water to our station.
