Earlier today 3 members of Liberty FD concluded 16 hours of Search School Training with Take The Door Training in Syracuse. Throughout the weekend members trained on Search Tactics under live fire conditions as well as victim removal.

At 9:05 AM this morning, Liberty Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire at a residence located on Denman Road....

At 9:05 AM this morning, Liberty Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire at a residence located on Denman Road. The fire advanced rapidly in the residence as 911 dispatchers advised of a hysterical resident on the phone still inside. Prior to the 1st due apparatus arriving, Youngsville 1st Assistant Chief Steve Schroeder and Liberty Firefighter Shimon Abisch helped evacuate thru a second story front window a mother and her children.

Responding to the scene with various equipment and interior manpower were the following departments; Monticello, Rock Hill, Loch Sheldrake, Hurleyville, Woodridge, Fallsburg, Swan Lake, White Sulphur Springs, Youngsville and Town of Bethel F.A.S.T. Livingston Manor stood by Liberty and City of Port Jervis in Monticello. Empress and Catskill Hatzalah provided EMS stand by at the scene. Total time on scene until units returned back in service was 4 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire.

Early this morning, Liberty Fire Department units responded to a vehicle fire on Breezy Hill Road. Upon arrival, 17-4 found a working plow truck fire, which was quickly extinguished by the crew of 17-12. Liberty FD units were assisted on scene by Livingston Manor Fire Department with a tanker.
