U.S. Army Staff Sgt. and Olympic shooter Rachel Tozier will showcase her world-class shooting abilities at the Leavenworth Trap and S***t Range on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Following the demonstration, she will host a Q&A session with the community. As part of her hometown tour, Tozier will also visit William Jewell College and Polo High School on Monday, September 23, 2024, to share her experiences as an Olympian and her career in the Army with students.

🪷🪖 spent the Holiday season traveling to attend the Buddhist Losar Festival in Akron, OH. SFC Gurung was a special guest speaker at said event where he had a direct impact in supporting the youth in the Nepalese community. The different DOD services, firefighters, etc were present during this event as well. SFC Gurung was offered the opportunity to stand in front of 500 personnel to speak about Army benefits. He also networked with local community influencers within that community (The Gurung President from 5 different cities to include tribe leaders). This NCO was able to spread the Army’s message to a vast amount of Nepalese youth. What a phenomenal person, Soldier, and Leader!!!🇳🇵🇺🇲

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Observance is a time to honor the legacy of Dr. King, reflecting on his tireless efforts for civil rights and equality. It serves as a reminder to continue the fight against discrimination and injustice.

The observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. was established by Public Law 98-144. This national day of service is celebrated on the third Monday in January. The theme for this event “Remember! Celebrate! Act! A Day On…Not A Day Off,” does not change each year.

The theme is a call to action through personal service. Together, we keep Dr. King’s legacy alive by getting involved and working together to strengthen the values of the communities we serve.
