The boil advisory for the Slonneger Street area is lifted.

For clarification, the boil advisory is for those residents that live on Slonneger Street to the western town limits.
This does not include Brownsville or any residences outside of the town’s western limits.

Town residents that live from Slonneger Street to the west side of town will be under a boil advisory until further notice. Comcast’s boring crew severely damaged the water main. It will take a couple of days to fix.

The Town’s water main on the west end of town has been hit by Comcast’s boring crew. Please be patient as a crew is being brought in to fix it since the Town’s crews are busy with Town projects. We will keep the community informed as we can.

The crossing guard position at the intersection of 27, 44 and Vine Street has been filled. There will be a town assigned crossing guard at the intersection tomorrow morning and so on. A big thank you to the individuals who have stepped up to insure the kids get to school safely!

The Town will have a crossing guard at the intersection of Vine, US 27 and 44 (St. Bridget’s Catholic Church area) for the afternoons of August 5th-August 7th. There will not be a crossing guard for the morning school traffic. Please advise your child to use the crossing guard at the entrance of Independence Lane.

Comcast will start this week to install fiber optic cables in the Town limits. The installation is expected to last three months.

With school starting August 5th, parents whose children walk to school and cross at 27, 44 and Vine Street, near St. Bridget’s church should be aware that the Town has not received applications for the crossing guard position located there. You may want to redirect your children to another crossing guard location until a new crossing guard is hired.
