In observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7, please note the following changes to the City's regular schedule:

- City Hall closed
- Liberty Animal Shelter closed
- Liberty Silver Center closed
- No Meals on Wheels delivery
- No Access Bus
- The Liberty Community Center will be open Noon - 6 p.m. All Group Ex classes will be cancelled
- Trash/recycling will run one day delayed for the remainder of the week

As a reminder, Labor Day is the last day to enjoy the spraygrounds at Ruth Moore Park and City Park and the outdoor pool at the Liberty Community Center before they close for the season.

We’re deeply saddened by the loss of MicahJo Barnett and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all who knew him in the William Jewell College and Liberty communities.

Members of the crowd held candles, prayed and stood together in quiet murmurs. Many in the crowd wore Liberty North High School gear, where Barnett graduated in 2024.

Starting Monday, Aug. 31, Mack Street, from Liberty Drive to Thompson Avenue, will be closed to install the final section of a gas main. The road will remain open until the school busses have run their morning routes and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

Please follow all traffic control signage and drive with caution when in the area.
