If you’re out and about in Liberty today, come on by the Amite County Court House and get you a bite to eat and some educational materials for your children we will be here from 9 am until 3 pm. The Amite County Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring this Back the blue event. We have a fire truck here for you and your children to see the equipment we use.

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone for sharing and being interested in our fund raiser. At this time all markers have been spoken for. As soon as we get them ordered and installed we will post pictures and an update. Thanks again to everyone!!

The Liberty Rural Volunteer Fire Department is asking for donations to help assist us in purchasing the Orange power line markers. We utilize the Ethel Stratton Vance Park, parking area to land Air Ambulance helicopters when we have sever wrecks or medical patients that need to be air lifted to a trauma center. What these orange balls do is allows the incoming helicopter to see and identify where those power lines are located and can stay away from them. We have reached out to a local company to acquire those markers, they are $131.20 per unit, we have already had four spoken for, we are needing 8-10 markers to properly mark the power lines. If you would like to make a donation in honor of memoriam of someone, or just a donation in general to help with the purchase of these markers please let us know. We have spoke with Entergy and they have already agreed to install those orange markers at no cost for us.

There will a blood today from 2pm until 7pm at the liberty library located at 196 clinic dr. Come out and support not only law enforcement but others who may need blood!

Breakfast includes:

We are also raffling off three items first place is a Re*****on 597 .22 semi-automatic rifle, second place is a country classic fish fryer, and third place is $25 cash. The tickets are $2 for one ticket and $5 for three tickets. The tickets are available by contacting 601-657-8450 or stopping by Morgans L**e. We will be drawing the tickets during heritage days on Saturday May 7th.
